Josco FC Trials
Trials are being conducted to induct fresh talents to Kochi based Josco FC at 9am on Monday 22nd June 2009 at Kerala Agricultural University grounds at Mannuthy, Thrissur.
The club by the jewellery tycoons JOSCO was formed when they bought a club from the Ernakulam division last year. With the moto of creating world class talents to represent India at international arena, the club is on lookout for youthful talents above age of 18.
Ex-Kerala goalkeeper Mr. Purushothaman, who is also actively involved in coaching, was the man behind the successful season last time. Josco FC has qualified for the super division and also has a chance to play the second Division I league next year.
The famed Kerala Coach Chathunni who was the key man behind success of FC Kochin and Viva Kerala in its early days is to head the Coaching staff at the club. Former Indian International C V Pappachan is also heard to to be actively involved with the club.
With all the bright stars shining, we hope Josco FC is on the right path to resurrect kerala football.

They already have 18 players signed last season.
Most of the contracts have renewed and some guys might go somewhere else.
Trials have been called for players above age of 18 its for the senior squad.

Please start with a professional setup.
Invest in good coaches & trainers.
Impart modern methods of training.There are clubs in India which are more than 100 years old but not even having their own proper training facilities.
Give importance to Club Culture.
Wish JOSCO FC a good footballing season.

Has everyone forgot Mr. K.G Vijayan who coached Premier Tyres for three consecutive titles (National Level) in a single. Record not being broken by any Kerala Club. i play as striker. i just love playing against the best. i love scoring goals from any angle i get on the field. i was on a constant look out for a club in kerala but couldn’t locate any.

The Problem is we look INDIAN FOOTBALL than looking at KERALA FOOTBALL. If we have right direction, state itself can develop a League that is better than I League and can bring 11 World Class Players from Kerala to represent India. What is required is good grounds and playing surfaces at least in all 14 district head quarters. I remember, how my home town churned out top class players in 80s and early 90s, when enough grass covered (unused paddy fields, though) fields were available, and the kids were learning skills with out fear of injury. Now that there is not even good fields or pitches to attract kids to play.

Great to know about the great plans of Josco FC but all I can say is learn from others mistakes.FC Kochin story is well documented.This is football-slow and steady wins the race.Don’t pump in too much money.Spend longer time and harder efforts to hunt young talent.To groom them and make a team.Else Josco FC will also end up as FCK.
