Bhaichung celebrates Player ratings from India vs. Sri Lanka (3-1):


Pal (6.5): Didn’t have much to do today but looked sharp and aware when he was called into the action

Surkumar (7.5): Was the pick of the defenders as his rampaging forays into the Sri Lanka penalty area were outstanding

Anwar (6): Didn’t seem to be at his best and was also the reason why Sri Lanka scored their goal

Gawli (7): Was brilliant going upfront and contributing to India’s attack

Singh (7): Was a strong presence in defence and looked comfortable and at ease throughout the 90 minutes

Dias (9): Was today’s top performer as he did everything right, whipped in sharply chiseled crosses and scored a fantastic goal

Pradeep (8): Looked dangerous throughout the 90 minutes with his long range efforts and was unlucky not to have scored when his shot hit the frame of the Lankan goal

Lawrence (8.5): Played his usual role in the midfield and connected well with the passes

Pereira (6.5): Was under par in comparison with his fellow midfielders but perform decently

Bhutia (8.5): The Sikkimese Sniper was at his best again as he scored a goal with a header and his the frame of the Lankan goal with another

Chhetri (6): Couldn’t really find his rhythm today but worked hard and linked up well with his teammates; scored a goal in the first-half that was disallowed for offside.


Renedy Singh (6.5): Came on in the second half and contributed in the attack

Kumara (7): The Sri Lankan custodian was called into action on several occasions and made crucial saves at crucial moments

Raheem (6): Didn’t look at all comfortable as the Indian players ran him ragged

Hettiarachchi (5): Looked as if he had gone fishing, so terribly out of the game of his depth he appeared

Warakagoda (5): Could not mark any Indian attacker properly and didn’t at all look like he could stop anyone from going past him

Ruwanthilake (7): Scored Sri Lanka’s goal and was the only Sri Lankan defender who looked like he was keen on doing his duty

Mohideen (7): Was again great going forward and did slip in a few through balls for the Sri Lankan players upfront

Maduranga (6): Was a disappointment today as he failed to do his midfield role properly

Asmeer (5.5): A midfield disaster who might as well as stayed out of the pitch

Gunaratne (6.5): Was one of the few Sri Lankan players whose commitment couldn’t be questioned

Channa (6): Looked under par but there were one or two occasions when he might as well have done something concrete

Issaden (6): Looked out of the game in the first-half but tried to outfox the Indian backline in the second
