State Junior Football Championship: Trivandrum in Final, Malappuram meets Thrissur in semi

Kerala State Junior FootballThiruvananthapuram entered finals 36th Kerala State junior football championship at the Nirmala College Ground here on Sunday. defeating last year’s runner-up, Palakkad by a lone goal by Jipson.

Malappuram upset holder Idukki 10-9, via the tie-breaker played out on Sunday, after the match was tied at 2-2 when rain halted it 25 mintues to end of play on Saturday. Harsheed (28th minute), Shameel (38th) scored for Malappuram and Idukki’s Pravin Mohan (10th) and Mohammed Shah (80th) scoring the goals.

Malappuram will meet Thrissur in second Semi final. Thrissur made to the semis defeated Pathanamthitta through a 15th minute strike by Bharathan on Saturday.
