KSEB scores over Viva Kerala! KSEB 2 Viva 0

November 20th, 2009 Section: KSEB, Viva Kerala FC

Surjit V V Two first team regulars from Viva Kerala, 21 year old wingback VV Surjit and 23 year old ace midfielder and Viva skipper MP Sakeer have been recruited by Kerala State Electricity Board along with India camper and Mahindra United star sriker Md. Rafi’s brother Rasi and Kannan from SBT.

The Viva players have been signed on a 5 year deal with a bond of one lakh rupees. It has also been said that these players will be granted leave for a year so they would be able to continue with their club duties at Viva Kerala for the current season.

KSEB which is based at Trivandrum has moved their training camp to Areacode recently. They will be playing against Viva Kerala in a tournament organised by Indian Navy at Kochi later this week. However, Sakeer and Surjit are expected to play with the I-league team if their leave is sanctioned.

With the news buzzing around that key players Thai Wisut Bunpeng and English born PIO Patrick Sisupalan may desert the Viva Squad, should Sakeer and Surjit not play, their absence will further hurt Viva badly.

With MP Sakeer drawing lot of attention this season from major I-league clubs like Churchill Brothers and Chirag United, this signing might create a problem in future and may end any hope of him representing India at the big stage.

KSEB had earlier issues with granting leave to some of their players when they got opportunities to ply their trade with leading Indian clubs. The latest such case being that of star striker PK Anil Kumar.

Hopefully history would not repeat itself and things will be clearer for these young guys who have a great footballing career ahead for them.
