Dhronacharya trophy: Anil Kumar hatrick spurs KSEB into finals
Yet another hat-trick from “Junior Vijayan” PK Anil Kumar takes KSEB into finals of 3rd Navy Day Invitation Football Championship for Dhronacharya trophy. KSEB defeated Universal Soccer School, Kozhikode 5-3 in the first semifinal at Kochi.
Anil opened the score sheet 26 minutes into the match to take KSEB into lead. But it was short lived as USS managed to draw levels through Fabeer seven minutes later. The match was even and the score remained same till the half time.
The floodgates opened in the second half. Five minutes into the second half Anil found the net again to put KSEB back to lead.
In 67th minute he completed his second hat-trick in two matches. Some feat which are rarely seen in Indian football arena.
Ranjith added to the miseries when he breached the Soccer School defence in 72nd minute. At 4-1 the match was though to be dead when Fabeer put some life back into USS with his goal six minutes later.
But Sumesh put all thoughts to death in 88th minute and with two minutes to go and injury time a 3 goal lead looked safe.
Universal found the net in the opening minute of injury time through Vijith, but that was not enough to change the result.
An entertaining match with 8 goals scored saw KSEB getting through to the finals they will play the winners of the next match: Viva Kerala v/s Central Excise on the finals on Nov 29
