Vyasa College Thrissur defeats PS FC Palakkad
Vyasa College Thrissur under guidance of ex-Kerala Santhosh Trophy winning Coach M Peethambaran defeated PSFC Palakkad 2-0 at 34th Kerala State Club Football Championships.
The Thrissur team sporting Yellow jerseys had a good start to the match. Midfielder Prasad KM opened the score in the 19th minute. Striker Pinto Franko added one to his name at 25th minute to take the game away from PSFC Palakkad.
The game was played evenly and was by far the most physical game seen in the tournament. The youthful teams resorted to some hard diving tackles and shirt pulling. PSFC stopper back Nishanth VV was the was the first one to go into the referees book in the 19th minute while Prasad KM and defender Kunju also went into the referee’s book during the final minutes of the first half.
Second half saw very few attempts on the goal as most of the the match was played in the midfield. The referee was shy in showing more cards and allowed the game to go on even though it was rough.
Loud boot clashes were heard far but the match kept on going without any goalmouth action. The PSFC team coached by one of their former players Abdul Ajith could not inspire his players to pull themselves back into the match. The Vyasa players took advantage of the rough game to stay down on the pitch and waste the time.
