U21: Shabeed shines as Malappuram crushes Idukki

M Shabeed fired in three goals, the first two in a three-minute spell, as Malappuram crushed host Idukki 4-1 and won the 14th Kerala State under-21 inter-district football championship at the St. George School Ground, Muthalakudam, on Saturday evening.
Shabeed’s goals came in the 21st, 24th and 88th minutes. Saheer scored the other goal for Malappuram in the 57th minute while Judil Varghese netted the host’s consolation goal in the 26th minute.
Earlier, Kannur defeated Thrissur by a lone goal and finished third. Nived Satheesan scored the match-winner in the 16th minute.
