South Asian Games: Women win gold for India

India Senior Women won the 11th South Asian Games women’s football tournament registering a comfortable 3-1 victory against Nepal in the finals played at Bangabandhu Stadium, Dhaka
It was Nepal who took the lead but India Senior Women came back strongly to level the terms when Bembem Devi converted from the spot as first half ended 1-1. India Senior Women stepped up the pressure on their opponent and scored two more goals in the second half through Naobi Chanu to register a historic win.
India Senior Women emerged invincible winning all their matches and altogether scored 29 goals in five matches.
Besides Gold, India were also awarded the Fair Play trophy.
