Kerala State Under-16 Football – Day 1
Hosts Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Kasargod began their campaign at the 30th Kerala State sub-junior (under-16) Football Tournament on a winning note at the Maharajas Stadium, Ernakulam.
Idukki defeated Palakkad 4-0 while Thrissur overcame Kollam 5-0. In a hardly contested match, Kasargod defeated Pathanamthitta by a single goal, while Ernakulam had it easy against Alapuzha (4-0). Bebeto and Akhil Xavier scored braces for Ernakulam.
The tournament was inaugurated by minister Jose Thettayil in the presence of Ernakulam District Football Association (EDFA) K Babu, Seceratary CC Jacob. Treeasurer SS Noushad, MM Jacob and Adv. PV Sreenijan.
