36th Kerala State Football Championship from February 10, 2011
The 36th Kerala State Club Football Championship will be held between February 10 and February 26, 2011 at Wayanad, informed KP Sunny, Secretary of Kerala Football Association (KFA).
The tournament was scheduled to start from February 3 earlier. The matches will be held at the SKMJ Higher Secondary School Ground, Kalpetta. The 35th Kerala Club Football Championship was played last month at Thrissur and Josco FC were crowned the champions. They had defeated State Bank of Travancore (SBT) 3-0 in the final held at Corporation Stadium, Thrissur.
“What we had recently in Thrissur was the 2008-2009 edition of the state championship, held after a one-year delay. Now, we will have the 2009-2010 edition in Wayanad,” Sunny told in the press conference.
KFA also announced that the 15th Kerala State Senior Women’s Football Championship will be held from February 11 to 15 at Newman College Ground in Thodupuzha, Idukki. Eight districts will take part in the championship. In the inaugural match, hosts Idukki will play Wayanad district.
Meanwhile, KFA Secretary also revealed that seven Kerala clubs have applied to KFA for an I-Leagues second division berth. The clubs were State Bank of Travancore (SBT), Travancore Titanium XI, Josco FC, Malabar United FC, Golden Threads, Eagles FC and Chandni FC. The state association has forwarded the applications to the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Where is the fixtures for the tournament? We do not have proper coverage also! 3 semifinalists are decided but no news on that! Bit disappointing to see this!
