SEPT finish runners-up in Dubai
The under-12 boys of Sports and Education Promotion Trust (SEPT) finished runners-up in the TTD Dubai International Super Cup 2012 held at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between April 9 and 12, 2012.
SEPT were drawn into Group I along with Evolution Soccer I (Qatar), PG 10 (Wales, UK), Soccer Circus (Dubai) and Poddar International School (Mumbai) and finished second behind Soccer Circus from Dubai. They defeated evolution Soccer and Poddar International School and held PG 10 to qualify for the semi finals. Meanwhile from Group II, Jabez, Evolution Soccer II, Mondial SC, Billabong HS and Dubai Super Stars competed for semi final honours.
In the semifinals, SEPT beat Jabez from South Africa to meet Soccer Circus in the finals and were beaten by the local side 4-1. The Dubai team had players from England, Finland, Scotland and African countries in their ranks.
The SEPT players and management also met Argentinean football legend Diego Maradona at Dubai during the tournament.
