Kerala are pitted in group A with defending champions Services, Maharasthra, Mizoram and Uttarakhand in the final round of the Santosh Trophy 2014 national football championship scheduled to be begin from February 24 at Siliguri, West Bengal.
Meanwhile, in group B, West Bengal, Goa, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Railways will fight it out to book a berth in the semi finals of the tournament. Each teams will play against each other once with two teams with maximum points progressing to the last-four from each group.
Earlier in the week, Kerala had dramatically progressed to the final rounds from the south zone, thanks to a 3-2 win against Karnata with two of their goals coming deep into the second half additional minutes. Kerala were runners-up in last year’s tournament going down to Services in the penalty shootouts at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi.
