KT Navas, one of the most consistent shot-stopper for Kerala comes from the football crazy district that has given a lot of players to Kerala football – Malapuram.

Born on 3rd January, 1981, Navas started his game with AFC Araecode and later joined MES Mampad football team during his pre-degree days.

Mr. Ashraf, the then coach of MES Mampad who currently works at KFA,  found Navas’ goal keeping talents and nurtured it. Navas represented Kerala in the U19 and U21 levels.

In 1998, he joined Travancore Titanium as a guest player and later signed a permanent deal with them on March 28, 2001. Navas currently works for Travancore Titanium Products Ltd. and has been the team’s custodian till now under the coaching of boss Rajiv Kumar.

Navas represented the Kerala XI in the EK Nayanar Memorial International Gold Cup tournament and won the Man of the Match award against Ferroviaria FC, Brazil.

Navas was chosen as the Best Goal Keeper of the tournament in All India Abhijeeth Kadam Memorial GFootball Tournament – Poona, Ayanor Cup – Madhya Pradesh and the Kalinga Cup - Orissa in the year 2007 for Titanium.

Navas was born as the second child of KC Abdul Salam and Fathima. His brothers KT Nazeel and KT Sameel plays for AFC Araecode and Calicut Farook College respectively.

The Goal keeper was chosen for 6 Santosh Trophy Kerala camps in his career and kept the goal for Kerala in the 2008 and 2009 editions.
