The final phase of the much-awaited Chief Minister's Trophy U-13 Kerala State School Football League will kick off on May 12 at the Maharajas Stadium, Kochi, with teams from 7 districts - Ernakulam, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malapuram, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram - ready to battle it out.
The tournament is conducted as a part of AFC's Vision India, Kerala Project by the Kerala State Sports Council. The league will be inaugurated by Vayalar Ravi, the Union Cabinet Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs on the morning of May 12th. The Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, VS Achuthanandan will give away the prises on the evening of May 21st.
“Next year, we will have all the 14 districts in the Schools League,” said the State Sports Council President TP Dasan at the media meet at Kochi on Tuesday.
The State Sports Council had given Rs. 50,000 earlier to each district to purchase around 300 balls and 300 pairs of football boots, with each player assured of a ball and a pair of shoes. The Pipefield Group will also provide a football kit to all the players in the final phase.
