Having qualified for the 3rd edition of ONGC I-League, the Club Secretary of Viva Kerala, Liyakhat Ali, spoke to Mathrubhumi Sports Masika on the future plans of the club at the top division.
Mr. Ali told that the club has no intention of revamping the team for the challenge ahead. He was quoted as saying, "I think the attacking capabilities of the current team is good. But there are a few problems at the back. So our main objective will be to sign 2 centre defenders during the window". "Viva won't be wasting money by signing star players and will instead search for talented youngsters." The Average age of the current Viva Kerala squad is 21.
The Club Secretary also informed that the Club has finally found a new sponsor for the upcoming I-League season.
Team Management has requested Kerala Football Association(KFA) to move their home ground to Cochin. The training camp of Viva Kerala will be starting in 1 month's time. The camp is set to provide physical training for the players so as to last the hectic 26 game schedule of the top division.
