Kerala finally got back to their scoring form only to find that it was a bit too late.
Haryana managed to draw Punjab early in the morning. This meant Kerala would be playing Meghalaya in the final match which would mean nothing to the result. Muhammed Sameer scored for Kerala at 31st minute and Midhun Wilwet added one more to his tally of 6 goals at 86th minute to finish the match 2-0.
After scoring a flurry of goals in the cluster matches, Kerala started the Quarter final group matches with some hiccup. First match against Haryana Kerala only managed to come up with a draw scoring in the final few minutes. Losing 6-0 against Punjab was a disaster which reminds us of Santosh Trophy last year when hte senior side was drubbed 5-0. But yet not scoring a goal in this match too was of some concern.
Finally it was due for Kerala to score today. With this win Kerala could manage only 4 points, while Haryana got the crucial 5th point to snatch the semifinal berth from Group B.
