Mumbai FC's Left Winger Anas Edathodika from Kondotty, Kerala has been included in the Maharashtra Team for Santosh Trophy 2009.
Anas who posses the ability of getting past defenders with ease has played well in this year's I-league winning 3 Man of the Match awards for Mumbai outfit and has been pick of players from Kerala in the National League.
Mahindra United’s Indian international midfielder Steven Dias will lead the squad which mainly consists of players from the three I-League Mumbai clubs- Mahindra, Mumbai FC and Air India.
Maharashtra are placed in Cluster II along with Meghalaya and Uttar Pradesh. All the games of this cluster will be played at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore between 25th and 29th May.
Players from Kerala playing for other states in the Santosh Trophy is not new as, Viva Kerala star performer Sabeeth is playing for Tamil Nadu this season. While Sushanth Mathew has been called up to represent Kerala this time, he had played for Maharastra before as he has been with Mahindra United.
