Nagaland State Football Team has pulled out of the Santosh Trophy 2009 football tournament yesterday. Nagaland wer palced with Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh in Cluster I.
Mr. CR Visswanathan, Chairman of the Technical Committee, AIFF told Hindu newspaper, “Hiccups in railway reservations and a five-day journey have forced the team (Nagaland) to withdraw from the championship,”.
The Kerala team was to play Nagaland tomorrow in their opening match of the tournament. After Nagalands withdrawal the team will get a day off.
Kerala will now play Chandigarh on May 26th. The match will start on 4:00 pm.
Meanwhile, Kerala team reached Coimbatore yesterday and settled down there. The team will start their training today at Coimbatore.
