Mumbai FC's Kerala defender Anas Edathodika hits out at the Kerala Football Association for not including him in their Santosh Trophy squad.
"I was disappointed when I was not even called for the camp and I had a dream to wear the Kerala jersey in the championship." The youngster from Malappuram who secured thrice the man of the match awarded in just concluded I-League is considered one of the fresh faces in the I-League and played an integral part in Mumbai FC's success.
Anas criticised the players selection, "The thing is that they have selected some players who has not even played a proper match in the I-League and it was my frustration that gave me the energy to score the opening goal and will give my all to Maharashtra to secure the championship." The stopper back had scored today's opening goal for Maharashtra in their opening game against Uttar Pradesh.
The interesting thing is that if Kerala and Maharashtra top their cluster both will face each other in the Pre-Quarterfinal knockout round to ensure a place in the the Quarterfinal League.
Meanwhile on a personal front Anas will be remaining with Mumbai FC in the new 2009/10 season though he had good offers from East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.
