Goa qualifies for Pre quarters after they defeated Orissa with a scoreline reading 4-0
Goa scored early on the in the first minute itself and then went on to win their Cluster IV match at Thiruchirappalli against Orissa to enter into the pre quarters on Friday.
Goa drew the first blood through Marcus Mascarenhas as he had no problems in finding the back of the net. Suffering an initial jolt Orissa were taken aback and tried hard to score the equalizer but everytime they got the ball they the possession to their opponent.
Goa completely dominated the match and never allowed Orissa to take control of the game. Goa extended their lead in the 33rd minute as Beevan D’Mello was left unmarked and he found the back of the net to give his team a 2-0 lead.
Climax Lawrence added his name to the scoring sheet to make it 3-0 in the 44th minute as the match entered into the lemon break with Goa leading 3-0.
The second half was no different from the first half as Goa were better off the two teams. In the 70th minute they extended the lead through Riston Rodrigues to make it 4-0 and take an unassailable lead. Goa will play their pre quarterfinal match on Sunday at the same venue.
