Titanium scored a solitary goal win over Keltron in the Thiruvananthapuram district super division football league at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium on Sunday.
Jayakumar scored the all-important goal by converting a penalty in the 85th minute to save the blushes for Titanium.
Keltron put up a spirited display against its superior rival and matched its rival in all aspects of the game.
The Keltron defence put up an admirable performance in the first half and kept at bay the dangerous Titanium strikers Ebin Rose and Usman.
Keltron looked dangerous in its counterattacks and managed to create panic in Titanium half.
Titanium, with thin bench strength, was forced to play its aging players who struggled to keep pace with its younger rival.
Titanium made an all out attack in the last few minutes and Keltron defence wilted under pressure.
Dinuraj who played upfront in the second half was brought down inside the penalty box by a Keltron defender and the ensuing penalty was coolly slotted in by Jayakumar for the match-winner.
