The India U-16 team defeated Sri Lanka U-16 1-0 in the first match of their tour of Sri Lanka.The Under-16 squad is currently on tour of Sri Lanka in preparation for the AFC U-16 qualifiers that will be held at Al Ain City of UAE from 3rd-13th October.
Lalnunmawia scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute. It was an equally contested game with both teams creating chances.
However, in the end the Indians held on to their one goal advantage to win the first match of this tour.
