Mumbai Footbal Club scored in the dying minutes to hold Defending champions Musli Power Churchill Brothers to a 1-1 draw in a Round 3 match to share points in the ONGC I-League, played at Nehru stadium, Fatorda, Margao, on Friday.
Musli power Churchill Brothers took the lead in the 26th minute through Reisangmi Vashum which was equalised by Abhishek Yadav in the 87th minute through a penalty.
Musli Power Churchill Brothers felt the absence of Khang thang Paite, Kulu ogabama and striker Odafe Okolie and the strikers lacked the fire power to score.
Musli power Churchill Brothers Went ahead in the 26th minute in a quick build-up on the left saw Dan relaying a forward pass to Felix chimaokwu who raced into the box, got the better of a defender and squared the ball to unmarked Reisangmi Vashum who sent a placement to find the back of the net.
Felix chimaokwu who lacked support upfront in the absence of odafe had a good chance to increase the lead at the stroke of lemon break after he intercepted a loose ball from defender Bernand Achaw but his weak attempt was put out by keeper Nindhinlal Who was substituted fifteen minutes before the final whistle after a muscle pull.
The Mumbai side who relied on counter moves had a good chance score in the 35th minute through Kayne Vincent cross but could not connect properly.
Mumbai FC maintained the pressure for an equaliser and eventually suceeded through Abhishek Yadav through a penalty in the 87th minute which was awarded by Referee Pratap after Nascimento Silveria brought down Abhishek Yadav inside the box who converted it with ease beating custodian Arindam Bhattacharya .
Musli Power Churchill Brothers' Charan Rai and Mumbai FC's Kayne Vincent were the two players who were shown yellow cards by the referee during the match.
