AM Sreedharan is hoping for better luck in future matches....
Viva Kerala continued their miserable satart to the season after suffering their third consecutive defeat at the hands of new league leaders Chirag United. They have now conceded five times without having replied even once.
Viva's debut home match didn’t really go according to plan as even though it was a tight match the Kerala outfit couldn’t get anything out of it.
Coach AM Sreedharan told Goal.com that he wasn’t happy with the result but he felt that his team have been playing decently.
“Even though the results haven’t quite gone our way I am sure that our performances have been decent if not great. We need a bit of luck in front of goal as even though we create chances, we are not being able to convert them.”
Viva conceded as early as the third minute and even though they pressed hard for an equalizer it did not come. The coach reckons it is the inexperience of his defense and goalkeeper which cost them today.
“We conceded a blunder of a goal today. That too very early in the game. There was no communication between the defenders and.
"The problem is the lack of experience in my side. Even though the boys are very good footballers they lack experience at this stage and that sometimes costs us. Our keeper needs to command the area more and organize the defense.
"As I said before its not that our performances have been poor, just that results haven’t gone our way. We will sort the difficulties and carry on with our work.”
Viva Kerala play hosts to Sporting Club de Goa on the 29th of October. Sporting themselves haven’t had a very good start to the season so both teams will be looking to grab the opportunity to get a good result.
Coach Sreedharan concluded on a positive note, “We will simply continue to work hard and I am sure with a little bit of luck in front of goal we will be able to get results.”

Luck is just a complimentory fact Mr. Sreedharan. No one relies on it to get a result! Its high time, you must change your military style whacking football and open your eyes into modern day professional football...your team couldnt even keep the ball on the ground for 30 seconds to complete atleast three succesfull passes to construct a move...hitting the ball up in the air is not called football!
Your contributions and achievements in kerala football is appreciated, but it appears that you have failed to keep up with the change of time...Football has changed Mr. Coach, its no more the game played during your military days nor during kerala police.... wake up!
Aren's these players watching EPL and International football matches, atleast to emulate, train and try better football? Arent coaches getting any advanced training?
Hahaha!!! Very funny Mr. Coach...you really need to know the reality. You've got a decent team that plays solely on individual brilliance. There is only so much players can do if all that you make them do is "running"...there are other aspects to training like defensive and offensive tactics and having a great match-up. The only times you've played 4-5-1 is during matches at Kolkata and you never play with the formation or players whom you play during practice...how do you expect the players to gel well. Luck is a factor when everything else is great...definitely not when there is somebody like you giving ONLY military drills and call it "coaching". Cannot say "grow-up" because you are too old for modern day football. Only a management like that of Viva Kerala can tolerate someone like you. Poor strategy and pathetic public comments, Mr. Coach.
I wouldn't say bad luck...because you need to get everything else right to talk about luck!!!
