Kerala crushed Pondicherry 13-0 to start their campaign in Coca Cola Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy for Sub-Junior (Under-15) National Football Championship at Kandivili in Maharastra.
For Kerala, Captain Ijas Ali scored 4 goals, with Midfielder Selmanshah KP and striker Midhun AV scoring 3 each. Hanan Javed NK, Mohammed Asif P and Jemshad also found the net once to finish the game off.
The match was supposed to be played at SAI grounds had been shifted to Cooperage stadium in the final moments.
Kerala took lead in the 2nd minute when Muhamad Asif P found the net.
Ijas Ali then scored a hat trick as he found the back of the net in the 23rd, 26th and injury time of the first half to take the score to 4-0 at half time.
In the second match played Karnataka beat Goa 4-0. Henthoiba and Shiva Ram found the back of the net once while Anto scored a brace in his teams victory.
