18th Minute goal by Reuben Senyo won Viva Kerala 3rd Navy Day Invitation Football Championship for Dhronacharya trophy carrying a prize money of 1 lakh. Reuben also won the best player award.
A good interplay between MP Sakeer and Anish KP created problems for KSEB defence and let Reuben free. Anish found Reuben in space and his pass was netted without any trouble by the Ghanian forward.
Viva were missing service of Siraj who is yet to recover from his injury and Surjith who has some minor injury.
KSEB going into the final could not match up to Vivas performance where they dominated into every department.
Marsooq in defence had a very good match and was credited for his performance by Captain Sakeer.
With Sharat K injured in ankle, Shahinlal was back into action for Neelappada.
Things became worse for KSEB when Anil was shown the second yellow and they were reduced to 10 men.
Reuben with this goal equalled the 6 goal mark along with Anil Kumar who had two consecutive hat-trick in last two matches, and was tied for the top scorer list, eventually winning it on the fair play factor.
"We are taking this as a practice match going into Federation cup. So we were more careful to stay away from injuries. They were playing tough game, very physical. But we saw through it," said the Viva Captain.
But in spite of all the caution, striker Anish KP found his way into the injury list with a twisted ankle.
