MSP HSS, Malapuram and Meenangadi GHSS, Wayanad qualified for the semi finals of the State inter-school football tournament for the Maliyekal Alikoya Memorial trophy organized by the Football Players' Association. 2 matches are to be played today in the tournament which may decide the other 2 teams in the last-four of the competition which is held at Kozhikode.
In another Sub Junior Football Championship in the memory of EC Barathan which takes place in the city, Government HSS, Kinassery defeated FC Red Star , 2-1, in the opening match. In the late kick off, RK Mission School overcame Super Strikers, Mananchira.
The tournamnet was inaugurated by A Pradeep Kumar M.L.A. at the Government Polytechnic ground. Personalities like Sanaaf Paalakandy, PMV Panicker, Principal of the West Hill Polytechnic - Mrs. C Beena, KP Sathya Krishnan and Mohan Kurian welcomed such tournaments during their speech.
On Friday, FC Panniankara takes on SICO, Nalallam, while Koduvally Muslim Orphanage School will face Chinmaya School.
