Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, defeated St. Xavier’s (Thumba) by a lone goal and won the Mar Thoma Trophy all-Kerala inter-college football title at the Mar Thoma College Ground here on Friday. Nikhil scored the match-winner in the 58th minute. Former State player John J. John gave away the prizes.
Special prizes: Nikhil (Nirmala, best player), Darish (Nirmala, best goalkeeper), Jipson (St. Xavier’s, best midfielder), Sherif (St. Xavier’s, best defender), Christ College (most promising team), Mar Athanasius (fairplay award).
