A twenty member team which will represent Kerala in the Santosh Trophy 2010 at West Bengal will be selected today at Kochi. The final team will be decided from the thirty players who are training together at the FACT Ground in Udyogamandal.
Kerala team's preparations began last month at the Kerala Varma College Ground, Thrissur on 10th June. Later a shortlisted team of 30 were called to the Cochin camp from where the final team will be decided.
Head coach MM Jacob, Rajiv (Thiruvananthapuram) and Abdul Rahman (Malapuram) comprises of the selection committee who have a tough job to select the best 20 from a group of talented youngsters.
The team will be joined by former Mahindra united defender Justin Stephen and Mumbai FC full back Anas Edathodika. Justin had represented his state in the last Santosh Trophy at Tamil Nadu too.
Kerala willl begin their campaign this time when they face Uttaranchal on July 22. Then, they face Himachal Pradesh on July 24 and Assam on July 26. The team will leave for Kolkata on July 18.

many kerala football very good players will playing another states, ex: r rajesh playing from tamilnadu, he had played kerala schools caption, (4 time played), u-19, u-21, kearala caption, kerala university caption (5 time played} and played kerala team santosh trophy at 2007 in gudgao, team will semifinalist. so why should ignore good player in kerala. so not have been perform 64th santosh trophy why not good player and include veteran player in keral team.
