The Kerala state Fisheries Minister S Sharma inaugurated the Aluva Football Academy at Municipal Stadium, Aluva in Ernakulam on Sunday.

Olympian O Chandrashekaran who represented India in football at the Olympics was the chief guest at the function. The Kerala Football Association President KMI Mather and MO John, the chairman of the academy also spoke during the function.

The minister also announced that the government will provide Rs. 10 Lakhs for the maintenance of the Municipal Stadium, Aluva. The Aluva Football Academy is a joint venture of the Aluva Veterans Football Association and soccer aficionados of the region.
