Sub Junior Football: Malappuram to meet Thrissur in final

Malappuram and Thrissur will face each other in the final of the 30th Kerala State sub-junior Football Tournament being held at Ernakulam.

In the semi finals held on Sunday, Malappuram overcame Kozhikode 4-2 in penalty shoot outs and Thrissur defeated hosts Ernakulam 3-2.

Kozhikode took the lead through Shaz Kabeer in the 17th minute, but Mohammed Sajil equalized for Malappuram in the 87th minute. The match stayed 1-1 even after thirty minutes of extra time. Mohammed Sajil, Shaneed Valan and K Vipin beat Kozhikode goal keeper in the shoot out, but only Hameed Jamas could find the back of the net for Kozhikkode.
