Indian defence lying deep and letting japan come and attack is never going to help

With this show there is no way for a comeback. Praying that they dont concede more than the seniors did against Kuwait.

Nothing good about this Indian team in midfield or strikers department.
Only player to impress me is striker Je Je with his pace.
But his team mates never pass the ball to him.

Dear Arun if thats the pride you show for India, then I feel sorry for you.
Its always easy to support the winning team. But only a true supporter will have the guts to stand up and cheer for the team while losing.

Think about the positives from this game.
Our boys played their most important match so far in their careers.
Played against a Japan team that consisted of full time international players who were on the fringes of world cup squad.
They have gained valuable experience and will be less awed next time when they play against superior opposition.
India looked actually pretty good in the last 10 minutes when they tried to pass the ball on ground and push forward.
So why didnt we play that for longer periods of the game comes down to tactics.

i would like to tell only one thing,that y the(senior and juniors) are not playing against tough opponenst regularly???(nehru trophy all lower ranking teams)

The reason is plain simple. Higher ranking teams are not in a position to send their teams, because most of their players will be playing for their european clubs. There is big money involved and the clubs cannot lose services of the players for 3 weeks between a season.
So that means you have to organise the tournament with whatever teams are available.
Do you honestly think that Japan and Aussies are going to play their strongest teams for the Asian Cup.

I am Japanese and and tell you something.
This U-21 team does not consist of any players who are playing in the Europian countries. No one was selected even as a candidate of the South Africa WC squad.
They simply want to win and want to be recognized as better players than they are currently evaluated.
That's their motivation.
They always try their best because they all know that they will be on the list of the next WC members if they show good performance in this Asian Games.

@justin, if good teams are not available for (nehru trophy) tournaments ,y cant they bring even Juniors of korea,australia ,iran...i mean U-21...in asia cup,except aussies all others coming with their full strenght and aussies are trying for their best possible combination..do u know ,all the time our teams (senior ,junior,subjunior) play against low grade teams and score 8-0 10-0like that and fails in main tournament

@ Arun.. I honestly dont remember when did an indian team win a game for more than 6 goals at any level in recent years.
Its not just the Aussies I am talking about, Japan will be without Borussia Dortmund star Shinji Kagawa and CSKA Moscow player Keisuke Honda.
Korean squad will not have Lee Chung Yong, Park Chu Young and its not yet confirmed wether Manchester United would release Park Ji Sung for national duty as they have a host of injured players.
But these teams still have depth in the squad to go on and win the Asian Cup.

First of all congrats to Japan team for show casing some amazing football for us. For the record, I havent said that the Japan U-23 squad consists of any european players. That was meant @ Arun regarding his chat.
Its true that the squad currently playing for Asian games is actually the Japan U-21, but you have got players like Kensuke Nagai from Fukuoka and Kazuya Yamamura from Ryutsu Keizai who are already full internationals for the Japan national team.
And that means a high quality squad, and the Indian boys had the opportunity to rub shoulders against them.
I know quite a lot about the J- League as I have been scouting on some players since the emergence of Ryo Miyaichi.

@ justin ,india beat cambodia (7-0) nehru trophy 2007,Indian U-16 beat so many clubs in USA 2008,score more than 5 except one match.now U-14 in usa doing the same,U-17 now training in china beat 2 teams more than 5 goals, indian U-19 beat pakistan 5-1 in saff games 2010..

what i want to tell is that we have to playa against tough opponents even in practice matches so that we can analyise our stenght and weakness

@ Arun, fair enough point that you have made.
Getting stronger sides to play against us is a total different scene.
To play against tougher teams we need to prove that we have a good side to give them some competition rather than a wastage of time.
Its either we come upto their standards or their standards drop down.
Most of the good teams play a lot of matches during the season, and if they need to squeeze us into their schedule we need to show quality football that they can benefit playing against us.

@justin ,for getting a U 21 of saudi or iran or china in our nehru trophy will not be big deal.. then tell me who we got heavyweights like argentina,uruguay,sovietunion,poland for tournaments in india...

we got a chance to play against Bayen Munich (2008),but bob denied..

@Justin, thank you for your comment. You seem to know about the Japanese football very well, which is really surprizing to me.
I think You know that Nagai and Yamamura are both university students and most probably will go to play as the professionals only after graduation. But their skills are genuine.
In this Games, the best Japanese U-21 footballer, Shinji Kagawa, is not participating. It is the coach's decision. But I believe that even without him, these boys will show remarkable performance for the remaining matches!
