Ten Sports and Ten Action+ have bagged the telecast rights of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League tournaments in the Indian subcontinent till 2015 from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), said Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. on Friday.
Ten Sports Channels have been airing the competitions run by the UEFA for the last couple of years and brings to the viewers over 55 UEFA Champions League matches and 60 Europa League matches every year. "We are committed to bringing the best sports action to our viewers, and with this long-term renewal of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, we have reinforced our leadership further,” said Mr. Atul Pande, CEO of Ten Sports in a press conference at Mumbai.
Ten Sports, with 55 million viewers across the subcontinent, is one of the popular sports channels of Asia and telecasts Cricket, Football, Hockey and other sports-entertainment shows like WWE. Apart from UEFA competitions, Ten Sports also telecasts Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A matches in association with Goal TV. The channel that was owned by a UAE based businessman Abdul Rahman Bukhatir was acquired by Zee Entertainment in 2010.
