Indian International midfielder NP Pradeep has signed for McDowell's Mohun Bagan AC for the 2011-12 season. Pradeep was key in keeping Viva Kerala in the I-League, playing as a playmaker creating a lot of goals and also scoring four himself, including one against Chirag United in his last match for Viva Kerala.
"I have joined Mohun Bagan. It was my dream playing for a Kolkata club and I can do it in the next season," the midfielder confirmed his switch to the Kolkata giants. Pradeep joined Viva Kerala on a four-month deal after returning from a disappointing AFC Asian Cup 2011 campaign at Doha, but attracted the interest of bigger clubs with a good display of form in the later stages of the season.
Pradeep has been earlier linked to a move to Kolkata when he signed a contract with East Bengal two years back during his days at Mahindra United, a move which was disapproved by the Players' Status Committee. The Kerala player has now signed a one year contract with Mohun Bagan.
Bagan, are the most active club in the transfer window after signing Nigerian goal scoring machine Odafa Okolie from Churchill Brothers. Odafa is the second highest goal getter in I-League 2010-11 behind Ranti Martins, scoring 25 goals from 26 matches. It is also heard that Bagan has also captured the signature of East Bengal's Syed Rahim Nabi.
