The draw for the 33rd Federation Cup tournament took place at the Football House, New Delhi in presence of all club representatives and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) delegation. The group stages of the tournament will be held at Pune and Kolkata with the semi finals and final scheduled to take place at Kolkata.
14 I-League teams were drawn into four groups in the Thursday's draw, while two second division clubs will get their chance through qualifiers. Group A comprising of McDowell Mohun Bagan, Churhcill Brothers SC, Shillong Lajong FC and a qualifier and Group B of Pailan Arrows, Salgaocar SC, Mumbai FC and HAL SC will play their group matches at Pune. Meanwhile, Group C (Kingfisher East Bengal, Dempo SC, Pune FC and a qualifier) and Group D (Chirag United Kerala, Prayag United SC, Air India FC and Sporting Club de Goa) will play at Kolkata.
The qualifying rounds will start on September 8 at Kolkata, while the main tournament begins from September 17, 2011. The final is slated for September 29 at Kolkata.
