Chirag United Kerala will take on Air India FC in the 20th round of I-League 2011-12 on Sunday, looking for some respite before the league takes a 40 day break. The match could be Air India’s last home match at their temporary base – Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune.
Air India who are on a roll this season, are placed ninth on the table with 27 points from 19 games. But, Chirag United have their one leg on relegation as they sit at the 12th position with 11 points from 18 games. They have increased pressure from HAL SC who have been looking brighter in the last few matches.
Chirag are still without their captain Ajayan for the trip, while Isaac Boakye will return to the team providing strength to the backline. He and Charles Dzisah’s partnership at the central defence could be the key to Chirag’s outcome from the match.
In their last trip to Pune, Chirag produced a victory, something they find hard to come by this season. They defeated Mumbai Fc then and the fans are hoping of a similar result against Mumbai FC in this round.
