Mohammed Hasil in India under-14 national team

Mohammed Hasil from Malappuram district, Kerala will travel to Kathmandu, Nepal representing Indian under-14 national football team for AFC Football Fest to be held from May 17 to 25, 2012. The striker is the only player from Kerala who has been included in the 22 member squad.

Even though there were seven Kerala players in the 34 players called for the camp at Kalyani, West Bengal, only Hasil made it through to the final squad. Mohammed Hasil is a student of Sacred Hearts School, Thevara. Another Malayali who would travel with the squad will be the team physio Vishnu Nair.

Head coach of the national team Sajid Yousuf Dar said, “This is the new beginning for the development of football in India. All the boys and support staff worked tirelessly during the two month long Coaching Camp. Hope we would achieve our goal and stand up to the expectations of everyone.” “The Festival would be a turning point for these young talents. It would give them the much desired exposure to graduate their skills,” he added.

The team would leave for Nepal on Thursday from New Delhi.
