Former Indian national team coach A M Sreedharan has been named the head coach for the Kerala team that will participate in the Santosh Trophy 2014. Sreedharan, who has immense experience coaching the likes of FC Cochin and Viva Kerala FC, will take Kerala to this year’s national championship of which’s south zone matches will be played at Chennai from January 26, 2014.
25 players have already been called to the coaching camp that will begin at LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram from December 20, 2013. 12 more will be indicted into the camp after the state club football championship currently underway at Wayanad.
Sreedharan has coached the Kerala team previously on four occasions between 1994 and 1997. Satheevan Balan will assist Sreedharan during the assignment.
