India Under 13 Boys Football team will leave Kolkata on Saturday (16th May ) for IR Iran to participate in AFC Under 13 Boys Festival of Football, South Asian Region to be held from 17th to 24th May in IR Iran.
Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal and hosts IR Iran are the other participating countries in this AFC Football Festival. Matches in Format I will be played on 19th and continue till 20th May. Matches of Format II will be played on 22nd and 23rd May. Skill Test will be held on 20th and 21st May.
There are 2 boys from Kerala who will be with the team in the Football Festival - Anis K and Hanan Javed Nellikkavil. Both the boys from Malapuram district are the products of Sports & Education Promotion Trust (SEPT), Calicut. Hanan was the captain and the top scorer of the SEPT Team that toured Sweden and Finland while Anis gave a solid performance in the Malaysian tour which earned them the national team call up.
