As the date for the prestigious Nehru Trophy Boat Race draws nearer, events to spice up the race are also increasing in number. Apart from the cultural and literary competitions that will precede the boat race, a football tournament is all set to draw tourists to Alappuzha.
The tournament, to be organised jointly by the All Kerala Houseboat Owners’ Association and the Nehru Trophy Boat Race Cultural Committee, will be a two-day affair to be held at the S.D.V. School grounds here on August 1 and 2.
