Title contenders Kerala University were whipped 4-0 by Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in the semifinals of the all-India inter-University football championship for men at Coimbatore.
In the other semifinals, which was an all-Punjab tie, a brilliant effort by Pawandeep Singh early in the second half enabled Punjab University (Chandigarh) score a solitary goal win over Punjabi University (Patiala).
In the clash for the title, Punjab will lock horns with Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in yet another all-Punjab final.
The results (semifinals): Punjab (Chandigarh) 1 (Pawandeep Singh) bt Punjabi (Patiala) 0; GNDU (Amritsar) 4 (Onkar Singh 2, Ajay Singh, Hardeep Singh) bt Kerala 0.
