The 3rd match of the quarter final league of Group B between KSEB and Army XI ended in a goalless draw in the Malayala Manorama Gold Cup Invitation Football Tournament at Seethi Haji Floodlit Stadium Edavanna on Thursday the 14th January 2010.
Both the teams failed to score and the match ended in a dull draw. Army XI played with short passes and made good attempts to score but the experienced KSEB defenders stood firm.
In the first half, Army XI got free kicks and corner kicks but they failed to turn the set pieces into goals. They had two open chances in the 65th and 89th minutes but could not take advantage.
For KSEB, Muhammed Rasi, Noushad Pari and captain Anil Kumar missed open chances due to some clever piece of goalkeeping from the Army keeper Robi Kanta Singh, who was in tremendous form.
In the mean time, KSEB player Vinod was sent off by the referee for a serios foul against the army striker L-N-Munda. KSEB held on till the final whistle to keep the score tied at 0-0.
KSEB now have two points from their two draws and a lot depends on tomorrow's match between HAL and Vasco.
