Kerala teams Malabar United and Travancore Titanium face each other in the South zone qualifiers of the I-League 2nd division at the KSFA Stadium, Bengaluru.
Titanium took the lead through Prashanth Simson in the 42nd minute of the game. He tapped in a low ball into the box. Titanium were able to maintain their lead at the lemon break.
Second half saw a completely different Malabar United on the pitch and they equalised in the 56th minute; Shamjith scoring the equaliser. Malabar United’s veteran coach Najeeb changed the team’s tactics and brought in Enyinnaya Lovaday instead of Kerala Santosh Trophy player Prasoon.
Titanium made their intentions clear in the 67th minute as the replaced he Goal scorer Prashanth with Shajahan who proved to be a much defensive player. Coach Najeeb’s second half substitution turned vital for the outcome of the match as Lovaday scored in the 81st minute.
Titanium showed brilliance in the first half of the game while they turned lacklustre for the second. Malabar United who were held to a draw by Chandni FC in the opening match now has 4 points from 2 matches.
