I-League 2 | Malabar United and HAL advances into the finals

Malabar United fromKerala and HAL Bangalore from the Group A and will join NISA, Sesa Football Academy, ONGC Mumbai and Oil India in the final round of the I-League Second Division.

Malabar United 2-2 BEML Goals: Firos K (12', 26') - RC Prakash (75', 77')

In their final group match, Malabar United who were almost certain of advancing into the last eights were forced to drop points against BEML in a 2-2 draw at the KSFA Stadium, Bengaluru. It was Malabar United who took a first half lead of 2-0 with the help of a brace from Firoz.

But, RC Prakash who was the brightest of players in the BEML camp fired in 2 goals in the space of 3 minutes to restore parity in the match. Malabar United topped the table with 12 points while BEML ended their campaign with 9 points.

HAL 2-3  State Bank of Travancore Goals: Jotin Singh (69'), J Murali (87') - Mohammed Haris (19'), Martin john (62'), Jipson Justus (65')

Despite losing in the final group match to an SBT team which underperformed throughout the tournament, HAL will be very happy to see their name in the final rounds of the second division. They were luck to qualify for the finals only with the help of the goal difference rule.

The match which was resumed in the second half saw SBT take a huge lead of 3-0 over the Bangalore team, but HAL came back strongly to return 2 goals later on in the game. If the score had remained 3-0, Kerala team would have made it into the finald. SBT also finished the tournament with 9 points, but are placed at N0. 4.

Simla Youngs 2- 5 Amity United

Amity United FC, Haryana scored a 5-2 convincing victory over Simla Youngs FC, Delhi in the last match of Group B on ONGC 2^(nd) Division League held at Dr Ambedkar Stadium here today. At lemon break, Amity United led 2-1. Amity United completed their engagements by collecting 9 points while Simla Youngs FC finished with 4 points from 6 matches respectively.

Scorers for Amity United were Useni (2 goals in 13^(th) and 71^(st) minute), Chaya Ram (2 goals in 49^(th) and 77^(th) minute), Biplab (86^(th) minute). For Simla Youngs' Prithvi (18^(th) minute) and Ugo through penalty in 64^(th) minute found the target. Simla Youngs’ goalkeeper Roshan Singh was given marching orders following handling the ball out of the box.

NISA 1-0 Denzong Boys
Goals: W Daniel Meetei (18')

The table leaders NISA defeated bottom of the table Denzong Boys to underline their supremacy in the Group C and qualified for the finals with 15 points from 6 games. Denzong Boys ended their dismal campaign with just one points from 6 matches.
