Viva Kerala Juniors managed their third draw from as many games in the Under 19 I-League football tournament as they drew 1-1 to Sporting club de Goa today at Goa.
Sporting Club de Goa coming from back to back victories over Dempo SC (3-0) and Salgaocar SC (1-0) was expected to be a tough opposition for Viva Kerala, but the match was up for grabs for either of the teams.
After a goalless first half, Sporting took the lead in the 50th minute. Viva fought hard to score and they were rewarded later in the half as Britto found the back of the net.
The move was started by Sreejith from the midfield who passed the ball forward to Sudhil in the wing. Sudhil found Pranav in the middle who was looking for a shot but he gave the ball to striker Jayan in the box who lay the ball for PM Britto to score from long range.
Viva Kerala are placed third in the points table behind Sporting and Churchill brothers. Sporting has 7 points while Churchill has four.
