The Kerala Football Association (KFA) announced a 61 member probables list for the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship to be held at Kolkata in the month of July 2010. The football association has decided to begin a month long preparations from June 10, 2010 at the Sree Kerala Varma College Ground, Thrissur.
The Kerala team will be coached by former Kerala Santosh Trophy captain MM Jacob. He will be assisted by the current State Bank of Travancore coach VP Shaji in the 64th edition of the premier national football championship for states.
There are 50 debutants in the young look Kerala camp. Jinesh Thomas, Jaseer Karnaath, Jitesh CK, Bijesh Ben, Renil CJ, Martin John, MP Sakeer, Rahul P, KP Zubair, Jacken Sebastian and Shibin Lal VK are the eleven players who have been retained from the squad which lost out to Maharashtra in the last edition.
MM Jacob who has coached the Kerala team in the years 1999 and 2000 was the assistant coach when Kerala lifted the trophy in the year 1993. Jacob who has 35 years of experience as a player and coach at the Central Excise Football Team is now working as Export Claim Superintendent at Cochin. Meanwhile, this is the first time VP Shaji has been given a hand to coach the state team.
The shortlisted squad after the preliminary coaching camp at Thrissur will do their final preparation at FACT Ground, Cochin before heading to Kolkata.

I-League players can play... National team players are not allowed

only domacile players can participate in there state team for example

Last twenty should b based on merit and not on discretion that always plays a major role. All de best 4 kerala....
of course, the absence of 30 national players will give birth to new talents.....
