The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will convene a six day national team camp at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune with 24 players, including the 21 year old Viva Kerala striker CS Sabeeth.
The India are scheduled to play Myanmar in the first leg of the Pre-Olympics qualifier on February 23, 2011. The return leg match of the Round I will be played at Yangon, Myanmar on March 9th. The camp will begin on February 17.
The camp consists of 24 players out of which final 18 will be chosen later. All nations are allowed to register an 18-member squad for the Olympic football which must include at least 15 athletes less than 23 years of age. There is no age limit for the remaining three.
Sabeeth, born in Ootty, earlier played for the national under-19 team after an impressive performance for the state of Tamil Nadu in the National U19 Championships. It was in the AFC Under-19 Championship Sabeeth made his first appearance for Team India and he did score in the second game against Pakistan though India failed to qualify for the final round.
