Malabar United and Wayanad Falcons advanced to the next stage of the 36th Mathrubhumi Kerala State Club Football Championship being held at the SKMJ High School Floodlit Stadium at Kalpetta.
Malabar United thrashed Soccer Face Chalakudy 7-0 while Falcons had a 6-1 win over Alappuzha Eleven. It was hat-trick performances from Usman V and Waheeb that hekped Malabar United to a 7-0 win. Subith opened the scoring for United in the 13th minute.
In the late kick off, it was Falcon's MA Rajesh who became the star player with three goals to his name. Falcons took the lead through a penalty kick that was slotted home by Akhil. Even though Alappuzha Eleven tried to come back into the game when K Anil halved the deficit in the second half, Malabar made their position solid with Rajesh completing his hat-trick and Haaris and Jackson also finding the back of the net.
