Senior Women's Nationals: Kerala beaten by West Bengal

Kerala state women's football team suffered a 5-1 thrashing to West Bengal in their first quarter final league match of the 19th Senior Women's National Football Championship held at Bhilai, Chattisgarh.

Kerala had topped their group to qualify for the quarter final stages by defeating Maharashtra and Rajasthan in cluster VIII, but were undone by the West Bengal team who were clearly a better group.

The quarter final leagues are played in two groups having four teams each. Top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi finals.

Pool 1 - Goa, Manipur, Jharkhand, Assam
Pool 2 - Kerala, West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana

Kerala's next match will be on May 11, 2011.
