India climbed up a spot to 146 in the latest FIFA world rankings.
India was ranked 94th in 1996 and had been on a decline. In March 2007 India touched a low of 167. But recent victories in Nehru Cup and AFC challenge cup has helped India to rank up.
Although India hadnt played any matches recently, Tajikistan's bad run caused them to lose 3 points which helped India move up. India Will be playing Nehru Cup in 19th to 31st August, which would be the next major tournament for the team.
India is scheduled to camp Portugal and Spain from 5th July to 5th August. This will also include few friendly matches. But these matches wont be counted for the FIFA rankings
